Yesterday, Elizabeth at The Ladder Herald saw some compelling new street art on a wall near 18th and Valencia. Today, she saw some cranky dude scrape it off. (And somewhere in between, she wrote a moving analysis of all the Sarah Palin news.) Thanks, Elizabeth!

The latest entry at WTF? OMFG! is called Mission District: Are You Kidding? and asks of the writer behind this bit of sidewalk graffiti, “How can you miss something that hasn’t gone away, whatsoever?” The rest of the rant is pretty choice too.

Has anybody seen it in a different mood? Anybody know its name? Seen at 26th and Mission.

I don’t know, man. And that website they mention is kind of boring. Zzzzzz.

This sure is a beauty: San Francisco as a bright, shining fortress from which mothers, bums and elderly are booted by the big black wingtip of the elite. It’s a gripping story, told wordlessly in a single panel, by artist Eric Drooker, who is known in part for his wordless graphic novels Flood! and Blood Song, seen here:

Took a closer look at one of the Gastank stickers on Valencia today. Noticed the fine print said gastank.us. Nothing there but the tank, an email link, and a Digg button (only nine diggs so far).
