Saturday afternoon at Phono del Sol in the park will be final show for Dominant Legs’ current lineup

Bummer! This lineup rules! Apparently the band will continue to be a band, but in a different form. (I hear somebody is moving to LA or something? Boo.) Anyway, tomorrow at Phono del Sol is your last chance to see this beloved local band in its current beloved form, so get tickets quick (especially since they’re so cheap).

Now let’s rock:

Try this beer

I mean, for graphic design reasons alone, you want to try this beer. But it’s also really really good, a hoppy pale ale made by a Swede in Belgium I think. (Hop flavors and aromas, but not a lot of bitterness.) Available now at Cervecería de MateVeza across from Dolores Park.

(What’s it called? No idea, sorry.)

SFW: totally thought this guy at Tartine had his junk out for a sec

Turned out he was just sporting an ambitious leather fanny pack.

Bad Blood with Joshua Cobos: Summer Days and Nights in Glorious Black and White

Every week, photographer Joshua Cobos shoots a roll of film just for us. (Although he’s been on hiatus for a lil bit.) He picks the best 13 photos and we post them here, and it’s called “Bad Blood with Joshua Cobos.” Here’s what Joshua has to say about this week’s installment:

I’ve been working on my next gallery show, which might explain why there hasn’t been a Bad Blood in a couple of weeks. This roll was taken around the time of the Pride Festival & finished up sometime late last week. The Burnt Ones performance at El Rio was ridiculous, sweaty & beautiful, fuzz so solid that my ears are still ringing. Bethany & Jake got engaged, congrats to them. The woman across from me at St Francis is worth a mention as well, for the record.

Thanks, Joshua! Ten more shots after the jump:

Malted coconut soft serve

From Bi-Rite. Highly recommended. Seen here, it’s swirled with chocolate, but I really wished I’d gotten 100% malted coconut. Malted coconut. Malted coconut. Yummmmmmm. (Plus, doy, the soft serve line is so much shorter than the other line.)

Mission Vegan: Hella Vegan Eats at Dear Mom this Saturday!

[Ginny is taking over the Mission Vegan column from Caroline, who moved away for medical school. She loves cats, metal, and kale.]

I’ve only visited Dear Mom for the booze, but I’m well-aware that they also serve food. The problem is that those weekly pop-up dinners, as crazy and creative as they are, are pretty heavy on the meat and cheese. That’s all good for my omnivorous friends, but for a vegan lush like myself, I need something to stabilize all that Maker’s. Sad Vegan™ no more:  This Saturday, Hella Vegan Eats is hosting a pop up dinner and I’m hella excited.

Here’s the Facebook invite!!! Come say hi…if you dare!

A look inside newly unveiled Farina Pizza on the corner of 18th and Valencia

Looks cool. Urban Life Signs took a few more pictures and published them along with a look back at the history of the lot where this space now resides:

Those were the days, am I right? Read on for the rest.

What some would call an EXIT

This is one of those things that seems like it’s supposed to answer something, but really it just brings up a lot of questions.

Urbun Burger out, Divisadero mainstay Little Chihuahua in

Eater SF has a great quote from Little Chihuahua’s owner:

“Valencia Street is hot right now,” he says. “We’re excited to be a part of the energy.”

Indeed! (Sad to see the word “Urbun” vanish off the face of the Earth though. Not.) Read on for the full story.
