Might get a little damp, but it’ll be fun as usual.
Dennis Micheal Kernohan is one of our favorite dudes, and tonight his show opens at Gravel & Gold:
Please join us in celebrating this magical man and his abundant talent. Dennis, the man everyone knows and loves, the man with a permanent smile and long locks of silver glory, the man you want to see everyday and the man who knows when you need a hug. From carpentry to farming, punk rock to hanging ten, Dennis has done it all and now he brings you his art! This will be Dennis’s first show in 25 years. Heavy on the UFO’s, sombreros, bright colors and psychedelia, he has a way of making the most simple of shapes seriously mind bending. Bring a beer, bring a friend and bring some bucks ’cause you will not want to miss out on nabbing up one of his pieces.
You can complain about how Tacolicious on Valencia Street is ruining the flavor of the hood and gentrifying the fuck out of the place all you want, but just be grateful that we don’t have an Urban Taco Fabricator like they do in LA.
Yet.

It seems that a woman got a serial package thief arrested today, after setting a trap and spraying him with bear spray. “Professional food pornographer” Sonya Yu tweeted the ordeal as it unfolded. Select tweets appear below in chronological order.
@scoutj he’s the one that’s been rampantly stealing packages in our neighborhood. I put out a bait package today & will be quietly working. — Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) November 27, 2012
I GOT HIM WITH THE BEAR SPRAY BUT HE ESCAPED.

HE IS BEIN TAKEN AWAY IN AN AMBULANCE CUZ OF THE BEAR SPRAY I DOUSED HIM WITH.
— Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) November 27, 2012
I WAS ALSO HIT WITH BEAR SPRAY BLOW BACK, SO MY FACE IS BURNING BUT IT FEELS SO GOOD. — Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) November 27, 2012
Tho imagining how bad he’s suffering (considering I emptied half a canister of bear spray onto him) makes me feel better.
— Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) November 27, 2012
@nettatheninja he didn’t try to attack me but he did have a knife. I was above him on the 1st floor balcony, dousing him with bear spray. — Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) November 27, 2012
@whitneyreeder I just citizen arrested & bear sprayed a notorious, violent thief/rapist in the neighborhood that everyone has been after.
— Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) November 27, 2012
@whitneyreeder he steals packages from door stoops – stole $1K+ worth from us earlier in the fall. He’s been targeting our neighborhood. — Sonya Yu (@sonyayu) November 27, 2012
JUST GOT A CALL FROM THE COPS: THEY’RE OFFICIALLY BOOKING HIM FOR ATTEMPTED BURGLARY & NOT JUST TRESPASSING. VICTORY!

Noe Valley SF also has some video.
They’re both seasonal specialties from Cervecería de MateVeza. Brewer Jim says they usually don’t name a beer until after it’s done, which may account for the accuracy of the names — the names are very accurate. So if you like dulce de leche or Tootsie Rolls, go try these beers.
Here’s one now:
Oooh I wonder if these will be on hand at this weekend’s rock ‘n’ beer festival.
