Future-themed dodgeball party tonight

I guess World Dodgeball Society SF does this thing every week! Here’s the deal on this week’s:

Open Gym Power Power Hour Plus! Yes, we are gonna shoot for the early start time again. Co-ed, No-Sting dodgeball played to the best/worst jams from 8:30-10! Great way to sweat out all those leftover toxins from your weekend or just an excuse to wear short shorts.

Thanks to all of you who unearthed your fav dead presidents last week, but this week it’s all about the future. Please interpret liberally. We will be hitting a new watering holes this Monday (post).

Spread the word! $5 to play.

Or free, if you ask for the American Tripps discount, apparently :)

RSVP and invite your friends!

American Tripps at the Secret Alley this Friday

There were lines around the block last time American Tripps was at the Secret Alley, by like 9pm.

RSVP and invite your friends, and don’t be tardy!

Dodgeball party!

We’ve been getting criticism for ping pong being the only sport we ever write about, so try this on for size — a weekly dodgeball party at the Mission Rec Center put on by World Dodgeball Society San Francisco. Tonight’s edition is special:

[Today] is Presidents Day so naturally you all are encouraged to come as your fav president (no joke, dress up as Millard “Chill-more” Filmore if you like). Best homage gets a bar tab. And god bless America we are gonna try and squeeze in an extra 30 minutes and start at 8:30 if we can!

Open Gym Power Power Hour! Co-ed, No-Sting dodgeball played to sweet jams from 8:30-10! Great way to sweat out all those leftover toxins from your weekend. Spread the word! $5 to play. We will be hitting some new watering holes this Monday (pre and post)

I love watering holes! RSVP and invite your friends!

Pro wrestling gentrification

There finally appears to be a battle for neighborhood domination brewing that will settle the score once and for all, and it’s taking place at a local high school this Saturday. I have a feeling that “the Border Patrol” is going to get his ass kicked by either Hijo de la Parka or Hijo del Misterioso, and that’s only if El Mariachi doesn’t get to him first. Of course, you can probably count on the Notorious Famous B to bring his A game (or in this case, B game) to the ring as well.

I’m still trying to figure out which side Kafu is on though.

Our pals from Sports Basement will be in the house this time, performing FREE BIKE TUNEUPS for the first two hours, raffling off a $50 gift card, and handing out coupons in case you’d like to pop around the corner to their store and pick up some ping pong paddles of your own.

Furthermore, American Tripps is giving away one of these kickass PBR paddles every day this week (courtesy of Dear Mom and PBR):

If it’s good enough for Timmy, I guess we better think about revising our so-so review.

Super Bowl plans?

Our boy Rob at Thieves Tavern (the one on 14th Street) has a tempting offer:

I’m doing a deal with TCB courier. Anyone who orders food from them [today] gets a free shot.

Football rules! Check out TCB’s order forms here.

Pool is dead! Long live air hockey!

You can’t play pool at Pop’s anymore, but YOU CAN PLAY AIR HOCKEY. Everyone is excited:

American Tripps brings Berlin-style ping pong back to the Mission this Friday

After three months at sea, American Tripps returns to the Secret Alley, with a party rendered EXTRA-TRIPPY by DJ JustStella‘s far-out collection of psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll. Do NOT eat the brown acid, people.

RSVP and invite your friends!

To mark this joyous occasion, our pal Cody Frost is printing up a limited edition of high-quality hand-screened posters, seen below, which will hopefully be for sale onsite for a modest price:
