Laura brings us news that a new comic book store is opening soon on 20th and San Carlos:

“New store at 3520 20th.  Mission Comics and Art.  Talked to owner Leef.  Super nice. Opens in less than a month! Real comic shop in the Mission! Dorks rule!”

And it’s a nice one too! Hilly, green, wooded, with views of Sutro Tower and the freeway and skaters skating in the skatepark, a playground full of lots of interesting gadgets, and a bandstand from which Thee Oh Sees can totally rock my world.

Dolores has a cute little competitor.

(Also, I realize this is not necessarily news, but everyone I talked to was like, “Have you been here before? I haven’t, this is great!” So I’m sure it’s news to plenty.)

I know there’s nothing anyone can do about this, and I don’t mean to start a fight, but you know what sucks? When right after Literary Death Match, they flip on a million hella bright lights in order to drive everyone downstairs.
