Behold the new and improved Dolores Park

There’s a new playground, a new bike polo court, a new pathway, the old bathroom building is gone, two new bathroom buildings are in, and they’re putting a bunch more benches at the tippity top.

Uptown Almanac has a thorough breakdown of every little change right here.

Your tax dollars at work

Reader Tyler B. explains:

Just snapped this photo about 15 minutes ago. When we first walked by to vote, this couple was standing there while two city workers were fishing through the drain. When we came back, there was this huge machine. We asked if someone lost something and this girl said, “my boyfriend lost his keys and watch down the drain. The sucked all the water and gunk out and then two guys got down there and found them!” Your tax dollars at work!

The trees are falling

Church pews (and other church stuff) for sale

Dolores Park Church (at 455 Dolores Street) is selling off a bunch of its assets at a weekend-long estate sale. PopSugar has further details:

Considering how trendy they are, church pews will no doubt be the hot ticket: choose from long, bench-style, blonde wood, curved pews; smaller, two-seat, curved pews; and three-seat, straight pews with wood seats that lift up; all have been unbolted and are ready to move. There will also be antique umbrella lockers; vintage, blonde wood Thonet Mundus chairs, made in Poland; church hymnals; display cases; vintage, painted wood partitions; children’s painted wood chairs and tables; bookcases; round wood tables; and other antique and vintage furniture. Plus, a 2005 Honda Civic, anyone?

(Thanks for the tip, @PopSugarSF!)

Felled stoplight keeps right on ticking

Says Lila H., the photographer:

down but not out at 26th and south van ness…

Thanks, Lila!

Cold Beer’s cold beer business makes huge technological leap forward

Congrats, Cold Beer! (Hopefully it’s full of Pabst Blue High Life.)

(Also, it’s gorgeous in the park right now, nbd.)

Earthquake in the Mission!

I guess it took me about 12 minutes to reassure all the people in the Midwest and back east that started IMing to see if I was okay that I was okay.

More.

Hey construction workers, it’s lovely up here in the part of the park not under construction

Why not knock off early and kick back and relax?

(But seriously, they’re doing important work down there. You can almost taste the improved drainage already.)

Creepy spooky handwritten threat

Just in time for Halloween!

“YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE YOUR PARTS,” however, is only one half of the story. Our pal Visivo has the other (plus an explanation) right here.

Seriously you guys, it’s gorgeous in the park right now

Come hang out already!
