According to an ancient Milanese streetcar. What a difference a century makes.
I wonder how we’ll feel when we look back on this Prop 8 business a hundred years from now.

Our pal Pen Pop is on the scene:
Hey, not sure of the details except that the bike and a backpack were under the wheels of a muni. Looks like the bus was turning off Harrison into the depot. I don’t know the condition of the cyclist but the police aren’t letting the bus move. Now there are about thirteen buses (combined both sides) waiting to go in. Watch out for buses, watch out for stop signs.
Our transit-obsessed buddies at Muni Diaries are bringing a bunch of cool people up on stage to entertain you with tales of life on Muni.
Eugenia elaborates:
Everybody has a Muni story: nail-clipping, whiskey-sharing, mythical-creature-spotting, and it just gets weirder all the time! Come hear true transit stories from riders, writers, and even a BART operator. Bonus: this show will also feature the second Muni Haiku Battle as our Lit Crawl champion defends his crown!
Storytellers:
Johnny Funcheap, master of frugal living
James Nestor, writer and reigning Muni Haiku champion
Anna Pulley, sex/relationship columnist and Muni haiku ninja
Kelly Beardsley, BART operator
Richie Nakano, chef at Hapa Ramen
Lucky Jesus unplugged!Muni Haiku Battle is inspired by Dirty Haiku Battle, presented by our favorite Oakland show,Tourettes Without Regrets (first Thursday of every month at the Oakland Metro). You should definitely check it out every month. Like, seriously.

Our pal Valerie explains:
Lady hit by bus on 14th and Mission. 49 bus. She’s conscious and seems ok.
You should’ve heard my friend Jess last night. We’re walking to a bar after the awesome Sébastien Giniaux show, we’re crossing a street, she’s a little drunk, and she shouts, “Oh my god! It says TATAS, and there’s TITTIES!” Plus she’s Australian, so everything she says is a riot.

There it is, all lit-up in the yard off Bryant. What’s the deal? I Googled it and all I found was a comment on a Burrito Justice post that says it’s been gone since ’88.
Late last night, some monocot-hater(s) sliced through the trunk of one of the palm trees near 20th and Church. Shortly after being discovered this morning, the damaged tree was deemed an immediate hazard and was taken down at around 2pm.
It almost looks as though the intention was to have the tree fall onto the tracks, as if the J-Church needs any more delays.
I can say from, err, personal field research, that the cops cleared everyone out of the park playground at midnight, so this probably happened after that unless these guys were super-quiet about it.

Muni’s colossal Mission Street updgrade project, which detoured buses off of Mission Street and onto South Van Ness and wreaked havoc on the lives of commuters and neighbors alike for longer than I care to try to remember, is all done!
Mission Local reports:
Parking spots, bus lanes and bike lanes remain largely unchanged, since most of the infrastructure repairs occurred above and below Mission.
“One notable change will be the new bus bulbs at the 24th Street BART plaza and curb ramps along Mission Street,” said Murillo. Bus bulbs are concrete extensions of the sidewalk that allow buses to pickup and drop off passengers without having to pull over.
Starting tomorrow, we’re all back to normal. Adjust your routines accordingly.
