Cops Chasing Streakers Through Dolores

Plug1 saw some shit last night Tuesday night:

The police were chasing 2 streakers thru Dolores park, one had no on 8 on his chest, the other had the obama logo. Unfortunately, I left the camera in the car and have no pictures.

Anybody not leave the camera in the car?

One More Street Party Shot

Photo by Brendan O’Connor. Spotted by Christina from Borrowed, bought, stolen. Nice shot! I love living in the city.

Moratorium on Acceptable Socioculinary Protocol

Means carnitas burrito for breakfast!

The Kids Are United

Many machines on lx, in a post titled The Mission kids love Obama, notes:

The kids are anywhere from 8 to 14; enthusiasm is uniform.  Their schools did polls and he won with numbers like 451-30.  They wear Obama t-shirts, stickers on their cheeks.  They quiz every adult in sight to make sure they voted the right way.

I remember being really excited about Michael Dukakis when I was 7, but I have a feeling this is different.

Burning Bush

Meanwhile, over in the Castro, Carlos Reyes saw the outgoing president burned in effigy. Lots more pictures here.

Celebration

Last night, the party was on Valencia Street. Elly took this nice photo, Elizabeth took a few more and wished she could commemorate the occasion the way Walt Whitman would’ve, and Johnny0 thought about Footloose.

Glory

David Rees and his comic strips were a big help in getting me through the last seven years. Now he’s a great blogger too, and he posted a moving one just now. Link.

Liveblogging the Returns

We like the coverage over at Plebiscite. Such as:

Tennessee puts glass shards and rat poison in its barbeque. Trust me, I grew up there. And I grew only 5 feet tall. Mostly due to BBQ defects. [Link]

And:

Chuck Dodd is a fucking moron. [Link]

Check it out.

Write-In Candidate?

Update: Meave changes the subject:

Related to elections, but unrelated to Slayer, do you know why are Carmen Chu and Michela Alioto-Pier almost always the only supes opposed to city propositions, when any of the supes are opposed to them? My boyfriend jokes that Carmen Chu ran on a NO campaign, but for real, is that her thing? I have only lived here for five elections, not all of the rules are clear yet.
