Pile o’ loot

The contents of a Walgreens bag-shaped piñata? Quick everyone, free goodies! When I biked past this morning, the football purse was still up for grabs.

Dalva’s Hideout features Juniperio gin

So glad to see the Hideout supporting our premiere local distillery, which named it’s flagship gin after famous settler and inventor of the Mission, Juniperio Sierria.

Mission & Fair drive-by?

Someone just got shot at Mission & Fair. It happened pretty fast. I was across the street and thought it was a backfire until I saw a guy hopping away being helped by friends. It may have been a drive-by but I’m really not sure.

The good news was the cops were there in under a minute, and a pretty impressive response. Pictures below (sorry they are so light streaky but I had just ordered pupusas).

Big time police chase

Tuesday Night Cop Scene
(file photo, one block North of incident)

Kimberly wonders what was going on last night (Friday):

Last night, my friend and I were at 18th & Mission around 10:15 or so. Dude runs past – you always wonder why they’re running – he’s followed by a dude who shouts “I can keep running all night!” (Clearly it’s a cop in street clothes) Then the ENTIRE block is shut down by, like, 15 or 20 cop cars. No reports on it this morning. We almost got run over by a cop while crossing the street to get away.

Anyone have any additional info?

Sunny summer evenings on Sixteenth Street

Sunny Summer Evenings

The sun is back, people.

Fences up at Dolores Park

They said they would, and now they did.  These pictures don’t necessarily address the scope of the area covered, but they give you and idea of what the park will look like for the next few months.

This Month in Mission Mission: June

Put on some Huey Lewis and fire up that flux capacitor! Doc Wong is taking you back in time. June of years past, to be exact. Please, try not to touch anything. We wouldn’t want to cause a tear in in the space/time continuum.
