Not quite as catchy as a Liger, but these American automobile companies have been kind of desperate lately so I suppose you have to at least give them credit for trying to resuscitate the luxury SUV market.

Ah, it’s one of those rare San Francisco nights where it’s so warm you can be out in shorts and a t-shirt at 11pm. I hope you’re all taking advantage of tonight, because we only get about 10 of these per year, so DON’T FUCK IT UP! While you’re at it, do be careful as well, especially if you happen to be near 16th Street, because there seems to be something in the air that’s causing cars to crash all over the place.
Our pal Lindsey happened to (suspiciously) be at both scenes, and here’s how it all went down according to her:
At 16th and Harrison we heard a loud band from inside Dear Mom and went out to see that two cars had collided and one was leaking liquid. Everyone was out of the car and I called 911, but no one seemed to have any immediate injuries.
Then, at 16th and Mission I rolled up right after it happened and someone said a woman got hit by a car and “wasn’t okay.” The ambulance pulled out a stretcher but I didn’t stick around much after that. The Harrison accident happened at around 7pm and the Mission one was at about 8pm.
Wow, let’s hope that she ended up being okay after all. Be careful out there, folks! And remember, don’t blow it tonight!
Our pal Beth stumbled upon this action late last night. Here’s more: “As I was turning right onto 25th from Capp Street I saw a man in handcuffs and neckbrace outside of an ambulance. Perhaps he was involved.”
OMG the Mish was on the scene too, and they spin a more colorful yarn:
At around 10:00pm tonight a trio of youngsters were spotted joyriding around the mission in a stolen car. They tried to do donuts at 26th and Mission but ended up crashing right into Casa Guadalupe #3 where they only sell day old “pan”. After the accident, the culprits ran into Lilac Alley and changed clothes. [link]
I guess people all over town were bummed about being stuck in traffic because of these guys, but I had fun. Here’s video of the whole shebang:
(That bangin’ song is “The Rush” by FAVORS.)
In the wake of all the debate about whether SFPD or NYPD drive the worst patrol cars, OPD swoops in and takes the cake.
(Oh and they did some other swooping too.)

Mission Local reports:
Once vilified with the stamp of gentrification and viewed as a service for out-of-town visitors, valet parking has increasingly become accepted in the Mission, as a dozen or so restaurants and parking lots now offer the service. With new restaurants moving in, the likelihood is that even more will be needed.
If approved, a 50-space lot at Builders Exchange of San Francisco, on South Van Ness Avenue near 20th Street, will be the latest to adopt valet parking.
“What we can see in the immediate future is that the demand for parking, especially in the evening, is going to rise quite noticeably,” said Phillip Lesser of the Mission Merchants Association, who is spearheading the proposal for valet parking at the Exchange. “The supply of parking is going to diminish quite considerably.”
