Who were where?

Oh, good.

(Thanks, anonymous tipster!)

Black sand pentagram

Our pals over at Project One are hard at work gearing up for an opening tonight at 7pm. The show is called “Symbols” and here’s what it’s all about:

Project One’s exhibition space will be transformed to encapsulate many different categories of symbolic dialogue. Modern artists will expound on Creation & Cosmos, Animals, Nature, the Occult, Astrology & Tarot, Colors, Geometric shapes, Contemporary symbols, and the Apocalyptic conspiracies that surround 2012 and the Mayan Calendar. The exhibition itself will take on the form of an elaborate puzzle, leading the viewer through a maze of wonder.

Maze of wonder! Sounds good! RSVP and invite your friends!

Angela has more on the making of the pentagram here. (And if you can’t make tonight’s opening, see the show on Friday when American Tripps returns to Project One.)

Trippy new art on the wall near Pal’s Take Away!

Schematic super burrito

Doesn’t it look delicious?  Except for that blue stuff–I don’t know what that’s supposed to be.  Nevertheless, the most precise super burrito ever assembled can be found at Z Space, but you’d already know that if you’ve been coming to ping pong!

Die Antwoord will be hanging in the Lower Haight this afternoon

They’ll be at FIFTY24SF at 4pm apparently (before heading to their sold out headlining gig at the Regency later tonight). High on Gold reports:

The group will be presenting a special, one-night only installation to coincide with their tour stop in San Francisco in support of their newest LP, TEN$ION. In addition to the installation, Die Antwoord will be presenting and releasing a special collector’s vinyl sculpture of Evil Boy, made in collaboration with Good Smile Company. Select vinyl pieces will be hand-detailed on by Die Antwoord’s Ninja. [link]

Image of old dude is actually guy on horse coming through an arch next to a shrouded sleeping woman

Will this optical illusion be the one that finally unseats “Old-lady-with-cartoonishly-large-nose-or-comely-lass-looking-away“? I think so. Snatch it up before it becomes the next classic.

Strewth, innit.

How many eggs would you like with your Osage?

Today’s filthy update brought to you as the first installment of the new DOA (Daily Osage Alley) series, previously mentioned here. Stay tuned for more daily doses of innovate couch use, mountains of banana peels, and piles of broken dice from one of the Mission’s lesser known waste strewn alleys.

Art show about nothing

Check out Rinee Shah‘s new art show, appropriately opening at kitchen supply boutique Pot + Pantry. All artwork is of food items from the popular TV show Seinfeld, “Junior mints, chocolate babka, black and white cookie, and more!”

For added laughs come dressed as the Soup Nazi or Kramer or something!

Thursday, Feb 16th 7-9pm – 593 Guerrero Street near 18th.
