Shitty bike thieves caught on camera, identification help needed

Stealing My Bike

Check out this security footage of two assholes clipping a lock and stealing a bike from a garage downtown. The best part is when the guy tries to get on the bike, but it’s clearly too tall for him and he fails the first couple times trying to mount it.

Unfortunately, they get away with it. If you or anyone you know has any information about this theft or can identify the people involved, get in touch — the victim has a Craigslist post up here.

Here’s a picture of the bike in question:

Mission Mission Gift Guide: Locally made letterpress cards

The Communication Company is a local letterpress studio run by Mission resident Katherine Wong, who promises to never print an owl. She made these gorgeous bifold greeting cards, and they’re now available on Etsy.

Also available: these colorful condensed bold purrs and exclamations:

Ooh, chihuahua indeed.

Boombox flash mob parade hits Dolores Park this Saturday

Unsilent Night is an original composition by Phil Kline, written specifically to be heard outdoors in December in the form of a “public performance art piece,” aka flash mob parade.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Download the MP3. There are four different tracks, and one will be chosen for you at random. Load the MP3 onto a boombox or other sound-amplifying device.
  2. If you can’t do Step 1, arrive early and get a CD or cassette.
  3. Meet at Dolores Park on the evening of Saturday, December 17. At 7:30pm, everyone presses play!
  4. Parade through the city on a predetermined route while the music plays, creating a “unique mobile sound sculpture.”

And then head to American Tripps after!

Bicycle centipede

Make the most of the city’s sparse offering of bike racks. (That was a hint, San Francisco.) Four bikes on one bike rack, one bicycle centipede. Just make sure you’re all friends first.

Bouldering competition at Mission Cliffs tonight, and good news regarding renovations

The 7th Touchstone Bouldering Series arrives at Mission Cliffs tonight from 5-11pm (as in, it just started!) Participation gets you free pizza, free beer, and a free T-shirt (pictured above).

Also, this just in from the Mission Cliffs Facebook page:

Attention Mission Cliffs, members and gusts: As you may have heard, we are pleased, proud, and absolutely pumped to announce that after a year and a half of hang ups, we have the building permits for a massive addition to our gym. Just imagine: Two levels of bouldering. Increased square footage for fitness. Adjustable Cracks. Separate Cycling Room. More Locker Space. New Front Entrance. And so much more.

Adjustable cracks! Great news, Mission Cliffs!

Have you seen this cat?

I don’t know, he looks pretty unpleasant. Maybe you should let this one go.

Fake chicken and waffle sandwiches at Soul Groove!

Vegetarians rejoice, Soul Groove now has you covered. Allison has the scoop:

Waffles, fake chicken and coleslaw. I think the dude said they also have some kind of fried green tomato thing.

Yeah!
