(Btw, how crazy is it that the Giants have been to three recent World Series riding three completely different aces each time? First Lincecum, then Matt Cain, and now Madison Bumgarner? Unreal!)
Go Giants!
So far everyone’s been loudly enthusiastic but very well behaved. A commendable bit of acting like you’ve been there before. Of course, the heavy police presence also helps.
It’s starting to feel just like October!
Something about this seems real fishy. Also, I’ve lately been quite obsessed with SF Climates!
Way back when I was first looking for a place to live in SF, I happened upon this charming in-law apartment in the Outer Sunset. It had everything I needed, and the sweet old lady landlord seemed nice enough, although she did keep making references to these “crazy parties” she would periodically throw.
As we stood together in the bright, sunny backyard, I remarked about how beautiful a day it was, and innocently asked whether it was often like this. With a deep sigh, she said:
You seem really nice, so I just can’t lie to you. It’s probably this nice here only about 5 days a year.
Disappointed, I left and started looking for places in the Mission. But! Perhaps I was just 8 years too early?
You know how sometimes you’re playing GTA and you blow out a tire but you think you can keep going for a while, except thanks to the game’s realistic physics engine you quickly realize how bad of an idea that is? Well, it looks like this guy has never played GTA
Unfortunately for him, his ploy failed and his vehicle ground to a halt, a couple minutes after which a squad of police arrived on the scene, automatic weapons pointed with shouts to get out of the car. The driver was promptly apprehended, but it is unclear at the moment whether this is just an extreme DUI or a getaway from another prior crime. It all went down on San Jose Ave around 23rd St.
We’ll update with more info if we get it, but for the time being we’re hiding out indoors from potential bullets.
Some words are just too sacred, and mean so much to so many people, that they shouldn’t have to undergo the indignity of being appropriated in order to woo the fortunes of some narcissistic VC. As our pal Eric put it:
Seriously?!? Can’t they just call it kloosh or something? Jesus Christ.
If someone ever tries to raise seed money for a startup called Dune, I’m going to go all Muad’Dib on their asses.
Just what is the deal with this weird bench? Says our pal Carlos:
It’s a bench on 26th and mission for absolutely no reason. It just faces a pole with its back to the intersection and there is no bus stop there (even though there is a bus in photo haha). Or maybe it’s a relic from a very old bus stop?
Ooh, maybe it’s a Thommason!!! Perhaps noted Mission historian Burrito Justice can shed some light on this conundrum. Until then . . . IT IS A MYSTERY 👻
Jefferson from Mission Bicycle Company recently contacted us with the following warning:
There are so many bikes stolen in this city it’s ridiculous. Most stolen bikes were:
This past week we saw two bikes stolen within around 24 hour hours of each other. Both locked up properly, with quality u-locks. Both were twisted open.
If anyone hears of a bike stolen using a similar method, I would encourage them to file a police report and send a tweet to https://twitter.com/SFPDBikeTheft.
Let’s work together to nail “The Twister”!!!
These are without a doubt some of the greatest special effects I have ever seen:
Delightful. Oh, and they’re also playing at the Brick & Mortar this Saturday!
So, about that earthquake. Pretty crazy, right? I mean, it even left one of the cabinet doors in my kitchen slightly more ajar than it was before I went to bed!
