They said they would, and now they did. These pictures don’t necessarily address the scope of the area covered, but they give you and idea of what the park will look like for the next few months.
Spotted at Little Star. Perhaps the Egg Bandit has moved across the street?
We wrapped up our liquid brunch adventure at the Phone Booth in the capable hands of bloody maestro Chris Southgate, who calmly took in our order for 40 bloody marys with a smile and went to work. Utilizing a recipe that included Guinness and horseradish in addition to the normal ingredients we’ve come to expect, Chris served us a simple drink without all the bells and whistles of some of the other bloodys but with a particular zest and freshness that hit the spot perfectly (while also administering an impressive yet cleverly disguised alcohol content).
Thanks again to everyone who came out to Sunday’s Bloody Marython! We had a much larger group than last time and walked a lot farther (obstructed by Carnival no less) thanks to my ambitious planning, but that still wasn’t enough to hamper our quest for indulgence! We made it to three spots from the original list before things became a bit too unwieldy, but we’re happy to report that they each brought their Sunday best and provided exceptional, unique Bloody Mary refreshment in their own ways.
In the end, things were too close to call in choosing a clear winner, as each bartender brought their own distinctive touch to the task at hand, whether it was bacon, cheese, or a veritable salad in your glass. Nonetheless, we’ve highlighted all the best parts of each program in the links to each bar below, so without further ado, allow us to present the Sunday Bloody Sunday Bloody Marython wrap-up:

True, most times he’ll just spout off leud or homophobic comments sung to the tune of Batman as you walk by. And other times he’ll get so wasted on the sidewalk across the street from your house that he starts talking Tea Party nonsense, or he’ll climb inside Yoko-Ono’s window. But sometimes, just sometimes, he offers you a pizza when you really need a pizza.
Wow, be careful out there fellow cyclists–it sounds like we have another maniac on the loose. Our pal Shelley and her friend were just menaced by a crazy driver who appears to have it out for people riding bicycles:
It was a black Chevy Impala with tinted windows. Rammed us from behind heading northbound on Shotwell btw 17th and 18th (right in front of the ODC building), and then executed a 3 point turn to escape. It was crazy, he came at us honking, and then shouted “I warned you!” as he drove off. I couldn’t believe it was happening. I’m just grateful the only serious damage was to Erik’s bicycle (The bike ended up under the dude’s front bumper.. totally snapped the back rim in two, crushed the right side toe clip, headset is fucked, etc.)
Luckily, they got the license plate and filed a police report, so be on the lookout for a Black Chevy Impala with license # 6PWS040.
It was almost one year ago exactly that some creep in an SUV went on a rampage and targeted 4 different cycles before eventually being caught by police, and even less than that since Yannick Linke was killed at Turk and Masonic by an allegedly drunk driver who then tried to flee the scene, so it’s clear that there’s definitely still some tension between automobiles and bicycles, even in one of the most cycle-friendly cities in the country. Be careful out there everyone!

As we threatened earlier this week, the MM Bloody Marython will recommence tomorrow at noon starting at Thieves Tavern on 14th Street by Guerrero. We hope you join us for what definitely promises to be a shitshow.
After Thieves, we’ll traverse through several hundred scantily clad women shaking their ta-tas for Carnival towards our next stop at Pop’s on 24th by York. From there, we’ll probably stop by the Phone Booth on S. Van Ness at 26th. Unfortunately, Chelsea from the Attic is out of town this weekend and won’t be able to spoil us with her creativity and cheese cubes, but she hopes to be around for future tours.
Well, enough banter–see you tomorrow at noon!

Our pal Nick hipped us to this mystical Buster Posey Dreamcatcher shirt (get it?) he recently designed shortly before Buster’s last game (if you believe the docs) this season. In case you haven’t heard, San Francisco’s favorite Rookie of the Year went down last night with what looks to be a season-ending injury. Fortunately, this clever pun can now be worn as a get-well-soon homage by all of his concerned fans.
Nick’s offering them for just $20, so to get a jump on the next big fashion trend, get in touch with him over at creamydesignsllc@gmail.com.
Now that we can finally manage to look a bloody mary in the face again without experiencing severe nausea after all of that ridiculous indulgence during our initial foray, we figured it was time to get moving on round 2 of the Mission Mission Bloody Marython. Last time we held the tour on a Saturday to provide us with plenty of time to recover the next day, but that unfortunately forced us to miss all of the bartenders who bring their bloody mary best on a Sunday! Luckily, thanks to the upcoming 3 day weekend afforded by Memorial Day, this is the perfect opportunity to delve into their creations while still enjoying a buffer day of recovery.
So, please join us at 12 noon this Sunday for the next installment of the Mission Mission Bloody Marython. We haven’t exactly solidified the route yet, but at the moment the idea is to hit up (in roughly this order):
It will be a merry bloody mary fueled romp through the Mission, with a few nice walks in between for some exercise too! Look, we even made a Facebook event page. We’ll also probably post an update here when we finalize our route and schedule. See you on Sunday at noon!
