Sidewalk seating (with food and beer) now open on formerly piss-and-barf-soaked stretch of Albion Street

I hope it’s “formerly” anyway. (I mean, it is right across from Delirium.)

Anyway, sidewalk seating rules!

They resurfaced the sidewalk the other day so it’s clean for now*.

Oh there’s no “former” when it comes to the Piss-and-barf-soaked stench on Albion. Their delicious burger may not taste the same on the outside.

  3. Grizzled Mission says:

Yeah, that would be tops on my list of restaurants that should not join the outside seating trend.

Is 16th Street really ready for outdoor seating? Are you just going to stare down the homeless guy while eating your $18 organic burger?

    • troll says:

      idk, ask Picaro

    • Ariel Dovas says:

There’s been outside seating all along that block of 16th for a long time.

    • umm says:

it ain’t 16th st, it’s Albion, and there has been outdoor seating on that very block of 16th st. for around 10 years (Truly Mediterranean, Pork Store, Picaro, etc.)

    • of course says:

      Rekt

      • troll says:

yeah, i don’t think that person actually lives around the corner. unless they’ve been holed up for many, many years (quite possible)

I think you folks are being too general. Yes, a few hundred feet away, there’s outside seating, but very specifically, the corner of 16th and Albion, is *that* ready for outdoor seating? Obviously, Monk’s Kettle thinks so, and maybe it is. I still see that very specific corner as doing a good job holding out against the “sprucing up” of the greater block, perhaps related to the SRO directly above Monk’s.

too general? we’re not the ones that mentioned whether 16th street was ready for al fresco dining. either way, both the pork store and picaro are right there (and way less than a few hundred feet, 200 at most). Aside from SRO tenants coming down for a smoke I don’t follow how they would impact Monk’s very much, especially when you consider how well Monk’s has already don.

that long haired guy who rides the Harley and works at monks is hot
