Killer photo by Fred Larson, from the SF Chronicle archives. He looks like he could be a dock worker in San Francisco in 1957, or a member of Thee Oh Sees in San Francisco in 2007. (Or a Hollywood superstar in San Francisco in 1987.)

      Sure, but old Frisco probably sucked, too. I mean, Austin is the only city in Texas worth a damn, in my experience.

    One of the only celebrity deaths that has truly bummed me out. A sincere RIP. Rad photo, too.

    Also, completely unnecessary but fitting-of-this-blog mentioning of the oh sees. When will it end?????
