Dawn of the Planet of the Apes does the same thing, though the Godzilla logos have a much cleaner design to them.
Did the agencies just refuse to have their logos used in the films, or what?
my guess is they wanted to use signs that would be more clear to people who aren’t from the bay area. looking at the bart and muni signs above, i feel like it would be hard to guess what they mean out of context.
