The Market Street Railway blog breaks the news:
As our members learned first in their exclusive newsletter, Inside Track, Market Street Railway has acquired for Muni a second boat tram. We’ll have much more to say about this here in a few days, but for now, we just want to thank Michael Thoresen, the most generous donor who made the acquisition possible through the Thoresen Foundation, and FedEx Trade Networks, which arranged and helped underwrite the shipping of the tram from England to San Francisco. Now that we have two, can we race ‘em?

That’s rad! I love the Blackpool tram!
Very good acquisition.
This weekend is also Muni Heritage Weekend:
“Muni’s parent, The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), with support from Market Street Railway, is inviting the public to get a taste of the city’s public transit past by offering rides on vintage motor buses and trolley buses from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3. Also operating those days will be a special cable car and historic streetcars rarely seen in regular service. – See more at: http://www.streetcar.org/blog/2013/10/muni-heritage-weekend-nov-2-3.html#sthash.9lPCW7QB.dpuf“
