Bad Blood with Joshua Cobos: Early Morning Dog Walks

Every now and then, photographer Joshua Cobos shoots a roll of film just for us. He picks the best 13 photos and we post them here, and it’s called “Bad Blood with Joshua Cobos.” Here’s what Joshua has to say about this installment:

I was dog sitting on 23rd St recently so every morning I’d wake up at 6 or 7 and walk around the neighborhood. There’s a series of hedges on 24th St that I thought would be cool to showcase here. I also should mention the film, Kodak E100G, such a shame that Kodak discontinued making slide film.

Agreed! Thanks, Joshua! Eight more shots (including some lovely hedges) after the jump:

Pic #2 and #5 are really great!

Like it when you guys blog about things people create rather than what they consume. Things seem out of balance in the neighborhood in that regard.

These are always really hackneyed shots. Why does this guy get a weekly feature?

    • ass says:

Actually, what am I talking about? This blog is usually just pictures of food and random shit in the street. In fact, this guy’s lame photos of a blonde girl and poorly framed photos of fences might be the most interesting things on this blog. Please accept my apologies.

There’s something good going on with the fourth one.

Mission Mission you’ve really got to stop putting these photos on your site. I can’t figure out if you think he’s so bad that its funny or you’re just friends but there is nothing in them of any worth.
    I promise you.

    • AC says:

why don’t you post a link to your art, or try and submit? while i agree these are overplayed here, you don’t need to shit on some kid via an internet blog. if he’s an artist, the real world will do enough of that to make up for you, i promise.

the above comment is a perfect example of how to look like a moron on the internet.

    • Amy says:

So what if they’re not high art? They’re nice to look at, and I look forward to these photo posts. Keep it coming, Josh!

  7. It’s easy to talk shit on the internet.
It’s hard to create images with a consistent look and feel that very well capture the mood of a certain place/societal group.

    keep it up, Joshua.

  8. 4Javi says:

Damn, y’all are harsh. Just rename the series, man. Instead of “Bad Blood”, go with “Proof that Josh Cobos Smokes Some Good Ass Weed”. And get that blonde girl a bigger spice rack, man. Thing is overflowing.

  9. LetMeIn says:

Instead of nay-saying, go outside. Go for a walk and look around.

I have to agree with some of the skepticism here. I’ll take up the challenge and post a link to my ‘art’, which is in fact a review of someone else’s art that for some reason this blog doesn’t seem to know about.

Why do you keep posting crappy photos some poor excuse of a photographer took of his ingenue girlfriend in crappy poses?

This shit is boring and not even good enough to be considered “mundane.”

Wait, isn’t that blond chick a stripper? Doesn’t she work at the Lusty?
