Looks cool. Urban Life Signs took a few more pictures and published them along with a look back at the history of the lot where this space now resides:

I loved having that empty lot next door, it made for great free all day and all night parking.
You sell three hundred dollars jeans. These are your new customers.
damn that is an ugly building
wasn’t Chris Daly integral to sheparding in so many lovely buildings in the city? he negotiated the Middle Finger development and i believe stuck his sh!t stained finger in this abomination as well…awww, the legacy of Chris Daly.
Daly arrived during the 90s tech boom and was very skilled at harnessing anger in a way that led to political power.
Hopefully we won’t make the same mistakes this time around.
I don’t think you can blame Daly for today’s crop of untalented architects.
I like to attempt to blame Chris “Motherfucking” Daly for just about everything. That guy was a real A-hole.
Naw, he’s awesome. Great guy, and definitely miss his presence in SF Politics.
The white blight continues. The yuppie food court expands, welcome to south marina.
Ironic coming from a guy with a Lotus as his avatar.
This pizzeria will be right at home in what is basically the Fisherman Warf of the Mission.
+1
Should I go to tacolicious or get a pizza at this new locale?
I hope they take reservations and have valet parking. I hate driving around. I wonder what great new wine bar will open in the old Adobe Books space?
Fucking awesome!
blah blah blah
Fucking valet parking, the scourge of humanity. All these assholes come up from LA and demand this shit. All I know is that IF I had a car, I certainly wouldn’t entrust it to some pimply kid who probably can’t even drive a manual, let alone pay him a substantial sum of money to park it for convenience’s sake.
Is more housing/retail planned for the parking lot across the street?
oh wow, so that what it is…
Amazing
Hopefully it will be as jaw-droppingly overpriced as the original Farina!
So no word on any of the links if they are using a proper wood fired oven to make the pizza :-[ I know I could go in there and buy a pizza but I wish it was something more accessible to everyone dare I say a small chain or just more laid back and not soo mod. I’m guessing the people that go there will be all dressed up and cool looking – I just don’t do that well.
Farina only stays open as Delfina’s overflow space…
Boring.
For the prices they charge, Farina is probably one of the worst restaurants in ALL of SF, not just the Mission. Can’t say there’s much hope for their pizzeria. Not sure why they’d even bother with Delfina and Arinell nearby, as they’ve got both the upscale and everyman pizza covered.
Anyone know who runs Farina and how they manage to stay open? It seems like it’s got to be some crazy story behind how it go to be such a shithole, and why they haven’t closed up shop yet.
Is it really a shithole now? I ate there once in 2009, and I thought the homemade filled pastas were pretty tasty.
I’m not sure if “shithole” is the right word, but I think most would agree it’s overpriced and mediocre. You probably have super sensitive taste buds or something. Me? I’ve probably killed all mine with Sriracha by now, but I thought their food was bland as fuck. I just don’t get why anyone would go here when they could go to Beretta or Delfina.
I think 2009 was before their kitchen became a revolving door for head chefs.
Its the same head chef as when the opened. He lives next door. It’s over priced, and the pasta is decent. Keep trollin Eric.
Great new urban building. Love the colors and clean facade.
Love the interior of the new restaurant. Beautiful use of materials, lighting, finishes.
another great addition to Valencia St.
Oh, BTW: all you haters don’t have to hang out or shop or eat on Valencia anymore. Go to Oakland.
When is your shift if I wanted to come visit you?
By clean facade you mean boring and if you love the “colors” you must have some sort of putty fetish.
Sorry but the building is at best undistinguished.
The restaurant is fine, but, as others have pointed out, its connection with Farina is not encouraging.
No. By clean facade I mean modern and fresh, and interesting. There are colors besides putty on the facade.
If you understood good, simple, modern urban architecture you would get it.
The interiors are outstanding.
Funny how “good, simple, modern urban architecture” means “formula retail architecture circa 1998.”
the exterior of that building is the definition of formula boring. compare it with the adjacent and contemporary mission cheese condo building, which is actually interesting to look at.
The mission cheese building is definitely nicer… but cost significantly more to live in (and is ownership versus rental).
If you want nice architecture, be prepared to pay for it.
If you can’t afford it, get the fuck out of here!!
I hate people with modest incomes, I mean haters.
It’s dangerous there. Stay out.
Marina Blvd.
Man, that building is heck of ugly.

Yup!
