New BART ads depict Bay Area-related literary classics coming to life on BART trains

I don’t really read books, but if I did, I’d consider reading these, because I like these ads.

    Glad you liked them too. There were only those 3 at 24th, but I’m curious whether there are other designs at stations throughout the system.

    I like the vaguely “social realist/’30s mural/Thomas Hart Benton” look of these things — it suits BART perfectly.

    Anytime I see someone saying something like “I don’t really read books.” it makes me feel very, very sorry for them.

    These are painted by the great (and local) artist/illustrator Owen Smith. So fantastic to see illustration used this way.

    my former office assistant (who had just completed a masters program) admitted that she never read any books that weren’t assigned to her…the only response I could muster was ‘you’re missing out’
