Every week, photographer Joshua Cobos shoots a roll of film just for us. He picks the best 13 photos and we post them here, and it’s called “Bad Blood with Joshua Cobos.” Oh, also, Joshua’s band Big Drag is playing tonight at Hemlock! Anyway, here’s what Joshua has to say about this week’s installment:
A couple of these photographs took a lot of courage & unabashed humility from the subjects.I am not really confident about expressing my private life anymore. These are friends and people I love. No more, no less.
Thanks, Joshua! Ten more shots after the jump:
another great set, I f i didnt know you I would want to because your photos are full of fun real moments
ROAD TRIP!!!
Love that one with the curtains.
SAME. to die for.
big drag, really? too bad Giant Drag was first and is undoubtedly better. ugh.
I dunno though. Pansy Division was better than Joy Division.
Them’s fightin’ words.
uhm the name comes from the movie bikini beach, 1964, don rickles played a character called Big Drag, fucking crazy shit. I also really like superdrag, superchunk, big star, etc. come to the show!!!
i met don rickles in malibu when i was 13 and got his autograph. he asked me if i was an actress.
big drag is also already a band. i know it’s tough to come up with original band names, but it sucks when people don’t even try.
leech
love these colors
andrew looks SMOKIN HOT!
i lost those blue sunglasses that night
What, pray tell, is courageous about any of these photos? Where does the “unabashed humility” come into play?
I don’t think you know what any of those words mean.
I think he’s talking about the curtains.
sub mother fucking godamned par.
call me a fucking hater.
Where’s your work Leibovitz?
this is work? I figured it was just for fun. I mean, he could curate from this stuff for a show or book, but a weekly project is bound to have a lot of less conceptual shots in it.
