Aren’t backyard shows the best? Rob Little, from a local band called Psychic Hiking, opened up a show I went to on Sunday. Rob went on right after the the solar eclipse — a tough act to follow — and he killed. See for yourself:
Sorry the video is upside down. Either I have an accelerometer problem or it’s an homage to Rodney Graham.
This guy, Rob, was so fun to watch–great earnest, heartfelt, quirky stories. I was initially bummed the rest of his band couldn’t make it, but he totally pulled it off solo.
The band’s recordings are worth a listen, too. I can’t stop listening to the full-band version of Jingle Jangle!

Rob is such a wonderfully original, unique and quirky being. I’ve known him since he was a student of mine in high school, and he’s always been super creative. It’s great to see him in action, even upside down, or maybe that makes it even more fitting.
