These days, I can’t go a week without hearing someone lament the lack of a steady banh mi source in the Mission (usually, those rants are from Andrew Sarkarati). Lament no more, for starting tomorrow, Duc Loi Market will be selling five delicious Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches for $5 a pop, 11am-7pm every day.
And if you can’t wait until tomorrow, there’s an opening tasting party tonight, 3pm-6pm.

Amanda rules. When ever I need help she takes my list of asian food needs and leads me around her store to make sure I get every thing right. Then the next time I se her she ask’s how it turned out.
So I noticed recently a giant color “Banh Mi!!!” sign in a shop on the west side of mission st. just north of 24th. Anyone ever try those sandwiches?
Terrible. Tried it.
NO way! i go there every other day after classes. Its cheap, and its great and I love hanging out there! The only thing that could make it better is if you could get bubble tea there, instead of the other quickly a half block down.
always glad to hear there are more banh mi available, but still, nobody beats the little old ladies at Saigon Sandwich in the TL.
+1
I’m always skeptical of portabella in a sandwich. 99% of the time it’s not cooked right and ends up a slimy, chewy mess.
Has anyone tried their veggie sandwich? Is it any good?
Any idea if the veggie is vegan as is or veganizable?
$5 a pop?? holy shit thats some serious hipster tax. saigon sandwich ftw. walk your PBR-beer-gut fat lazy hipster ass a few blocks over. or ride your fixie.
Are you actually complaining about a $5 sandwich when Rhea’s and Ike’s are topping $10? Man, get some priorities.
Seriously. $5 for a good sandwich is not bad at all.
yeah. i am. paying $10 for a sandwich is even MORE insane.
Better than the Nom Nom food truck nonsense.
Is this along side Soul Groove or is this replacing them?
This is great. I also am forced to advertise for Thanh Tham on Valencia@17th. They’ve had Banh Mi for a couple years now and I don’t understand why I’m the only person that’s noticed. It’s good.
You aren’t — it’s been mentioned here before.
maybe because they are not very good. :/
$5 Fried Chicken sandwich? I’ll give it a try.
I have never seen fried chicken on a vietnamese sandwich. This Sounds really good, I’m going there this week!
