Mission Street is getting repaved?! Holy shit!

Ohhh crap, I guess this means that my commute will move to Folsom.

They’d better finish repaving South Van Ness, and tearing up/whatever they’re doing on Cesar Chavez, then, or driving in the Mission is going to suck even worse than it already does.

    • okay, then don’t drive in the mission. just leave your car at the bart station.

        “At the BART station”?

Believe it or not, there are actually people who LIVE in the Mission who have cars. Who need to drive them because of their work, family, or other totally legitimate reasons. I guess maybe you never noticed that every parking space is taken up in the middle of the night? After all the businesses close?

That aside, roadwork also makes biking and walking a hell of a lot more unpleasant. Aside from the fact that it literally makes it hard or impossible to travel on the streets involved, it is also LOUD and SMELLY. There’s also often a lot of dust and stuff in the air.

I totally understand the need to repave and otherwise update infrastructure. That said, things still suck while the work is going on, and BFW has every right to be apprehensive.

I just read that the plan is to prohibit left turns from Mission between 7am-7pm. Do the planners behind this realize what this will do to already overrun Sts like Dolores, Guerrero and South Van. Bryant, Harrison and Folsom get ready as well.
