Especially when compared to the flimsy protection offered by their Valencia St. counterparts. I count nine intended spots to lock up bikes, and the imposing architecture makes for plenty of other opportunities to find purchase should they be full. Let’s see a car try to take that out!
Previously:
Are any bike thefts on Valencia attributable to the racks being “flimsy”? Not trying to be controversial, just curious. I was under the impression that most bike thefts are carried out by cutting/breaking the lock, not the rack.
i should have clarified: protection against cars!
Maybe not directly attributable to racks, but the wrong kind of rack (like the kind where there is basically only a vertical bar available to lock to) can prevent you from locking up as thoroughly as you would like.
