The whole thing, gone in 60 seconds! (Okay, apparently it’s in the shop for cleaning or refurbishment and it’s due back probably in a couple weeks.)
Note to motorists: they forgot to screw the parking meters back on the parking meter posts, so you can park here for free for basically forever.
Maybe, ya know, cleaning it occasionally while it was there would have been good too. Perhaps watering the plants once or twice. Just saying.
I assume it’s the same rule as for a broken meter — you can still only legally park in the space for the time to which the meter is limited, even though you don’t have to pay for it. (You could make an argument that since the meter head is missing, you have no way to tell what the time limit would be, so the rule is therefore invalid, but try arguing that with a meter maid.)
I’ve still never figured out what’s going on at that parklet and Revolution Cafe, demographically. There seems to be a special breed of people there (no comment on the nature of the breed) who don’t congregate elsewhere in the Mission.
I took it.
The story I was told was that the parklet was designed to only be installed for 4 months… it’s going on 2 years.
It’s being refurbished by the fine folks at ReBar and should back in a few weeks. Bigger, better, faster, stronger.
