That area is crackhead central, due to the shady bus stop in front of the mental hospital. Pretty much any hour of the day, you can see people smoking crack, selling drugs, wondering the streets half naked yelling at cars.
They have a high population of tweakers wearing shorts over sweatpants as well.
In fact it is one block down from the “3rd Most Dangerous Block” in SF (http://missionlocal.org/2011/04/the-missions-10-most-dangerous-blocks/)

Thats pretty accurate. Toooo many crackheads just blazin out there and people going in and out of re-hab/ER because they cant afford to see a doctor.

Taking the 9 bus is sometimes unbearable because you got Johnny head wound walkin on along with 2-3 other people in wheelchairs.

Time for society to get tough.

Certain behaviors simply no longer tolerated.

Spread the word. Offer an opportunity alter one’s anti-social behavior but ensure the citizenry knows the future results.

Of course, society, however it is done, must ensure jobs for ALL at a livable wage.

Not assured luxury but a basic livable quality of life.

Then repeated anti-social behavior WILL ensure permanent removable from society; in whatever form or manner required; even if it permanent physical removable.

    Banishment to a foreign land?

    Whatever is needed.

We, the People, will simply not tolerate ANY MORE VERMIN!!!!

I think this sounds like some ghetto blaster punk kids that need to be taught a lesson. You do not meander the streets with a gun. You do not point it in a woman’s face for a phone.

I blame phone companies. The iphone is not a treasure worth becoming a criminal for.

Regarding General, I think the people that facilitate the hospital could benefit from an assessment. The robbers were definitely not patients at General, meandering around with a firearm. That just doesn’t seem possible.

The majority of people at General Psych Ward are either people with mental disabilities, homeless with no place to go, prostitutes who need an alternative shelter, rape victims- who should be taken to Rape and Trauma Center around the block, or kids coming down from lcd trip or interest in occult.

I did an internship there and was unimpressed with the bedside manner of the nurses if you can call them that. They seemed more like uninformed and under qualified bully’s. While on shift, I observed a nurse ridicule an elderly homeless man after accidentally dropping his lunch tray.
She was totally high on valium, or a similar substance. They should drug test those drug administers, btw.
This same woman publicly mocked another patient who was clearly deaf and suffered subtle learning disabilities. He wanted to write a note and had trouble writing. He wanted to document a statement about his rights and she refused he be given a pen or any assistance in transcribing. I was shocked.
General Psych. is wack. I decided to work with a more ethical agency.
I saw no robbers in the hospital, just people needing rest and less drugs, but ofcourse- drugs is the main form of treatment at General Psych.Just ask that nurse. Unlike Saint Francis, which incorporates art therapy and physical movement, group writing etc. General Psych. is unfortunately outdated and could greatly improve in it’s ethical standards.

Mission can be dangerous at night, in some parts. I like what was said about the community watch.
If we each do our part to protect fellow citizens by reporting and protecting oneanother, action is ALWAYS better that assuming someone else will report and minding our own business.

    TAKE A STAND.

The cops are busy guarding our downtown against unregulated campouts and hacky-sack playing; they don’t have the troops to keep things safe out here in the neighborhood. Priorities, folks.
