“I’ll touch your butt!” What a line!
(Also, follow me on Twitter, doy.)
Check out this security footage of two assholes clipping a lock and stealing a bike from a garage downtown. The best part is when the guy tries to get on the bike, but it’s clearly too tall for him and he fails the first couple times trying to mount it.
Unfortunately, they get away with it. If you or anyone you know has any information about this theft or can identify the people involved, get in touch — the victim has a Craigslist post up here.
Here’s a picture of the bike in question:

Our buddy J-Lub reports:
Not sure if you guys have blogged this yet or not, but the El Tonayense taqueria on 24th and Shotwell closed a few months back. There has been some renovation going on in there lately, so I poked my head in this morning and asked what was up. Apparently Wise Sons is opening a permanent Jewish deli in that location. Don’t know the projected opening date, but they have been extensively overhauling the place. Should be right!
Have you ever taken a midnight bike ride to Ocean Beach? It’s great. When you get to Golden Gate Park, all you can hear in the darkness is the wind whooshing by and the gentle clicking of your freewheel. Every time I look out on the ocean with my bike by my side, I think, “I am lucky to live here”. If you want in on this awesomeness, it’s easy: just wait around outside Bender’s on Wednesday night until Andrew Sarkarati comes out, and follow him.
If you don’t like hanging out in front of bars waiting for motivated drunk cyclists to trickle out, Mission Bicycle Company is hosting their own midnight bike ride this Saturday. The meetup location will be announced on midnightmystery.org on the day-of. Sounds like an awesome way to spend Saturday night if you don’t plan on partying too hard prior to midnight. If you do, perhaps your chances of getting a BUI will be greatly diminished when you’re riding in a big group. It may be best to stay presentable though, since this ride will apparently be filmed for a short movie.

Local printmaking collective Colpa Press has selected limited edition prints, books, and objects by an assortment of artists to feature in a pop-up shop at Wire+Nail Gallery this weekend. And the opening is tonight from 6-9pm!
The pop-up shop will be open Saturday and Sunday, 10-8pm.
The Communication Company is a local letterpress studio run by Mission resident Katherine Wong, who promises to never print an owl. She made these gorgeous bifold greeting cards, and they’re now available on Etsy.
Also available: these colorful condensed bold purrs and exclamations:
Ooh, chihuahua indeed.
Unsilent Night is an original composition by Phil Kline, written specifically to be heard outdoors in December in the form of a “public performance art piece,” aka flash mob parade.
Here’s how it works:
And then head to American Tripps after!
Remember that hipster-taco-riding-a-bike-in-the-Mission shirt we loved so much a few years back? That was Headline Shirts, and tonight they’re having a big sale. Roxzann from Headline fills us in:
We’re having a Holiday Sample Sale, there will be cheap tees but more importantly drinks, snacks, and sweet beets spun by our sales manager (we make a great team). I will also be in a baboon suit running around and having a gas! Fun right?
