Earthquake in the Mission!

I guess it took me about 12 minutes to reassure all the people in the Midwest and back east that started IMing to see if I was okay that I was okay.

More.

  2. Actually, it felt more like a huge kick in the head.

  3. Jose says:

Well, it was outside of the Mission too.

I work in the Design District, and I gotta say that I definitely would not want to be in this building in anything shakier than that. I know it was only a 3.9, but for whatever reason, we felt it very strongly here.

Probably because it’s a masonry building on top of fill.

I ride through there on my commute home. I hope I’m nowhere near all those brick buildings when a 6+ hits.

I am in Walnut Creek and I felt it. It was kind of strong…

inception? minority report? I’m so confused.

That was pinner and weak. Soon….soon…you will know what realness is. Today’s was on the Hayward fault, known to rip a 7+ every 150 years or so. The geological records go way, way back supporting this. Last one was around 1850………..

  10. EH says:

I heard this earthquake might not have been legit…anybody else heard different?

  11. Dave says:

Yes, only in the mission. yeesh.

Both were closest in feeling to the 89er, though not as big as others we’ve had since. I couldn’t sleep with my back to the door for about a year after 89 and I didn’t last night. Some shit is gonna go down. If that rattled any of you transplants or those not old enough to remember, imagine that feeling for about 20 seconds and a sound like a bulldozer in the room with you.
