the cafeteria at cal academy of sciences has the best mousse i’ve had in the city. another option more locally: tartine. or rechiutti, candybar and delessio should also have some good options if you’re willing to leave the mission-nation-state.

Gerhard Michler dark chocolate mousse is out of the way, expensive, and excellent. And I hate to say it but Whole foods actually has better mousse than Tartine imo and that’s where I get my fix. I know it’s sacrilege but it’s the truth.
You can make your own. Just make sure to make it in a really filthy kitchen and charge yourself top dollar to re-create the Ti Couz experience.
I second the “make it.” I haven’t a clue how to make a regular mousse, but this “Mexican Chocolate” vegan one is de-frikkin-liscious.
