Our pal Jacob did some digging, based on questions raised last week:
The contractors that were there said it’s due to open next week. The circuits for the ovens broke or else they would have opened this week.
No one was aware of a name change – the mystery continues.
What!
Check out the place’s new interior here.

I don’t know anything about our fair city’s byzantine permitting system, but I would think someone in the know might be able to search public records for a change of fictitious business name, application for a liquor license, etc.?
new name: Mission Gastroclub …. so sayeth Facebook Places.
not to mention that this is a terrible, terrible name.
Mission Gastroclub is not the new name. They are two separate entities.

Thank god. What a terrible name/concept.
totes terrible bro. im not in that club
why on earth would they forfeit name recognition? makes no sense.
Because how often have you overheard anyone say “I just had a KILLER meal at Palace Family Steakhouse”?
This place was ripe for an overhaul in all aspects.
Uhh… all the time, when it was open? That place was fucking rad. Good simple food at great prices.
Anyway, whatever it’s called can’t we all just agree to call it Pal-Fam from now on?
Seconded!

If they change the name, then I guess it won’t be a “steak house” when it re-opens. As for a gastropub, I just learned what that is a few days ago watching “Rocco’s Dinner Party.” I could go for a place like that.
Your style is unique in comparison to other folks I have read stuff from.
Many thanks for posting when you’ve got the opportunity, Guess I’ll just bookmark
