KTVU reports:
The shooting was reported at about 2 p.m. Tuesday in an alley near the park, which is bounded by 18th and 20th streets and Dolores and Church streets.
The 22-year-old victim met a female who drove him to the alley, where two male suspects appeared and demanded money, according to police.
The man handed over cash to the suspects, who began to run away. The victim chased after them, at which point one of the suspects turned and fired at him, striking him once, police said.
The guy is alive. As of this morning, the suspects were still at large. Good thing the cops were busy staging an anti-riot operation. Read on. And watch your backs; this city is losing its mind.

People are poor and angry and some of them are carrying guns, what’s new?
I didn’t take the bait when you offered to leave for good. How about this: scale back. Comment when you have something of substance to say. If you don’t have anything of substance to say, don’t bother.
“If you don’t have anything of substance to say, don’t bother.”
Wait… what? Who are you and what did you do with Allan?
I’m not saying that goes for everyone — certainly not me — just for Delegate Nerd.
So you’re advocating censorship of this poster?
I’m suggesting this poster tones it down, if this poster wants to. No big deal.
Okay, sorry Allan, I like your blog and I get a little too excited sometimes. I can chill out on my obsessive tendencies. All these crime stories are upsetting, people get anxious. Mellow us down with cheesy indie bands and some weird outsider art profiles!
This went down while SFPD’s resources were focused on an inane, childish and futile protest. Thanks alot fucktards.
What’s wrong with DN’s comment? I think he’s right and things are gonna get a lot worse. As for substance in comments ( which is rare on this blog and I’m totally guilty too ) I think it cuts both ways: post articles of substance, such asn his one and not overheard conversions, scrawled graffiti tags in bar bathrooms and hipsters with beer cartons on their heads.
even in posts which you think are worthwhile you complain about this site. boy it’s such a bummer that it’s mandated by the state for you whiners to follow this blog and add comments.
It sucks that this kind of stuff is going down, but the response by MM is a little weird. The city isn’t “going crazy.” You’ve just been insulated from the crime and poverty because you don’t live in Bayview. Whenever anything spills out of that neighborhood, people like you start saying, “waaaa, what’s going on to MY San Francisco.” When it doesn’t spill over, you pretend Bayview isn’t part of the city and drink your 4loko in Dolores Park while feeling edgy that you live in a neighborhood with a few Hispanic families.
So you’re saying we should redraw the city limit to make Bayview part of SSF or whatever? Sounds good to me.
So there is no crime and poverty in the Mission? Maybe i misread the above post. Where are you from that you are so much more intertwined with danger? Bayview?
i like your assumption that any crime that happens around here has to be spillover from Bayview.
how could they NOT rob you drunk squawking idiots. I have lived in Bayview for years and the mission is much worse because you live in it. I think we would be happy to secede in exchange for tax breaks, there are more homeowners here than in any other part of the city. suck on it yuppies.
man, you’re really tough on the internet AND you live in Bayview, double-whammy. you and ‘truth’ should meet up and compare macho man points.
Sorry, but it’s hardly about being a tough guy, it’s about having a different perspective about San Francisco. The phrase, “this city is going crazy” is inaccurate and condescending. It ignores what goes on in San Francisco every single day, just out of sight of many who live in the Mission.
Of course there’s crime and poverty in the Mission, but the feeling that “the city is going crazy” when such crime occurs indicates a lack of understanding about the city that the poster lives in.
gah and the poor dude just thought he was gonna get some head. now there’s the real tragedy in this post. no wonder we all just smoke weed every day.
Watch your laptops. This blog is getting crazy.
The city is losing it’s mind!… don’t want to burst your bubble but that ocurred many years ago. The city has been slipping deeper into the cesspool known as California. At one time it was a city to be proud of… not anymore! A Native San Franciscan
Running after someone with a gun. Great idea.
Fuck San Francisco.
what’s “an alley near Dolores Park”? Oakwood? Dolores Terrace?
