What a lineup! I’m glad I didn’t bother going to Coachella. The San Francisco music scene rules!
That’s a pretty extensive list.. except you’re missing:
5/24 S.Carey (of Bon Iver fame) @ Cafe Du Nord
6/7 Glasvegas @ GAMH
Which I’m totally stoked abt!!
It’s a selected list of bands I care about, omissions are intentional.
GG
Already got my tickets for The Knitters!
Pretty much everything else I consider worthwhile is at The Bottom Of The Hill, so I guess that tells you something about me.
Corin Tucker at the BOTH is going to be awesome.
Re: The Knitters — I saw X perform at Slim’s maybe 2 years ago and I couldn’t believe how much they rocked despite being in their (late?) 50s. That show should be killer.
May 30 – Lykke Li at the Regency
I was totally yawning until ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN! Holy shit.
Same here!
“Lips like sugar… sugar kisses…”
Have you ever been to one of those shows? In high school I was near-embarrassed by the median age of the crowd. Still fun though… Oops I think I just aged myself.
Color me Bleh *yawn* – with the exception of Mike Watt.
What this city needs is a month long Godwaffle Noise Pancakes Festival on Bernal Heights or something. Or even a Arthur mag style fest SF style.
What the hell are you doing Aquarius Records? Having Cluster play inside your store is not the best idea. I want my mushrooms and space ambience outside, during the daytime with immaculate sound.
Dude, that sounds awesome! And they just added some more shows:
April 21 – Mumford and Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros at some park in West Oakland
April 26 – Tune-Yards at the Great American Music Hall
April 28- Phosphorescent at the Independent
April 30 – Philip Glass at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts
June 14 – Mark Lanegan at the Great American Music Hall
(Although I do agree with Color to the extent that I would like some more noise in my NoisePop.)
I’m going to assume this is a secret ploy to try to legitimize OWL CITY to anyone over the age of 14 — because otherwise, I have no idea why they would be on this list…
Well if we’re not going to get any more Postal Service collaborations, I’ll tolerate Owl City.
Bottom Of The Hill is kinda killin’ it!
OFF! 4/21 @ The Eagle
Oxbow 4/28 @ The Eagle
Are the Eagle shows still happening? Sucks about their landlord.
Update from SFist on The Eagle: http://sfist.com/2011/04/18/eagle_tavern_new_closing_date_end_o.php
The EELS at GAMH on 8/11.
dardardar usually hooks this list up on a continuous basis. check ‘em on the regular.

And epicsauce, too.

No Tune-Yards on this list is hecka dumb, for sure.
jessica lea mayfield and nathaniel rateliff at bottom of the hill, april 30
Crystal Stilts at the Rickshaw Stop on May 7th!
Wanda Jackson @ GAMH on 5/4!
Holy shit x 2.
Hell yes! Backed by RED MEAT!
I know, right?! I saw her at Slim’s last year or so, also backed by Red Meat, and it was super rad. Though, sadly, under-attended. I am betting/hoping that her new album w/ Jack White will change that for this show!
Either way, I’ll be there with bells on.
this is nothing like SXSW
This seems like a listing of show. Congratulations on having shows on a near daily basis.
Congratulations on your inability to detect satire.
Nope. This is better: This is San Francisco.
Too cool to list Janet Jackson? I’ll take Janet and Echo and the Bunnymen, please.
also
May 21: feedtime @ Bottom of the Hill
damn, not to hate, but all that music is like 10 years older than almost anything i’d listen to, don’t think i’d check out even a single one of those bands. weird. loads of good news stuff out there! you guys should hit the blogs!
Yeah, I liked all of those bands before you ever heard of them. They’re totally spent now.
Just got back from the New Pornographers show at the Regency, and it was pretty k-rad, even if the sound guy could not get the mix right to save his goddamn life. They must have played about 30 songs in a long, fast, set.
July 19 – Owl City at the Warfield
This looks awesome. Wondering why Timmy Mezzy isn’t playing this, bummer.
Frank Turner @ BOTH – May 4
just sign up for something like sonicliving.com and then you won’t miss shows
It’s all about The Nuge http://www.theindependentsf.com/event/38583/
If by “all about” you mean “all about hoping he gets hit by a truck”, then yes, I agree.
Ah shit I forgot RANDY fucking NEWMAN! Davies symphony hall 4/22!!!
May 12 – Joan of Arc at Cafe du Nord
