I found this on a rooftop next to a damp boxspring and a pile of bottles and cans and syringes. What it is? And why did I touch it?

    It’s a wooden screw dowel, often used in cheap-ass assemble-it-yourself furniture.

    I cannot explain why you touched it.

    carpenters use them a lot
    not just assemble it yourself furniture

    It’s dowell used to join two pieces of wood together
    usually found in older furniture.
