Boys Bathroom Line Intolerably Long at Dolores Park

image

Well, it must have been, because they seemed to think they would have better luck on the girls’ side. Which, mind you, was already extraordinarily long, historically long, so long in fact that it began to encroach on our birthday picnic.

I’ve seen girls in the boys’ bathroom line before, cunning individuals who harness their multi-faceted powers of persuasion in order to be admitted into the quicker line, but I’ve never seen it the other way around.

Hmmm, perhaps they’re just being good boyfriends, sticking it out with their girls so the unfortunate females don’t have to endure the wait all alone.  Awww, now it’s kind of cute.  Sort of.  Cuter than the Dolores Park Peeper at least.

Regardless, I think we can all agree that the wait for the girls’ bathroom in Dolores Park is ridiculous. What ever happened to all those porta-potties?

Ladies, you tell us:  What’s the longest you’ve ever waited for the bathroom at Dolores Park?

Timbuk2 Has The Mission’s Ass Covered, Shells Out Free Rain Gear

timbuk2, freebies, giveaway, mission district, seat cover, viral marketing, free seat cover, san francisco, bike seat, rain cover

As a city cyclist, I count my blessings every time I go to mount up and my saddle hasn’t been stolen. Imagine my surprise today when I walked outside Atlas Cafe to unlock and found my seat had been upgraded with a snappy red rain cover! Of course, the altruistic act came with a pitch – Timbuk2‘s ninjas stealthily distributed the seat covers in support of a sale – but who can complain when a random act of kindness wards off a soggy bum? With this week’s dismal forecast we can all use an extra bit of shelter.

Sidewalk Steak

Up for grabs! Still looks at least somewhat edible!

But seriously, is this guerilla marketing for a hot new food cart concept or what?

Bernal Heights Shit Fountain

Bernalwood is calling this a “dirt fountain,” but I’m not so sure. Here’s hoping it doesn’t find its way down the hill.

This Neighborhood Has Potential

The Bay Citizen has a little feature up right now about a play called Clybourne Park, about some insensitive white people (pictured) moving into a black neighborhood and being pumped about “its potential.” They sent us a memo because “the play is about gentrification, which of course is an issue y’all are dealing with in the Mission.” Whoa! That’s true!

Read on to watch some clips of the play and its actors discussing their roles.

It’s So Sad, Selling Books

Ramona (not pictured) is moving to New York, and she’s decided her biggest obstacle is the books:

Now, I already sold a bunch of them to a used bookstore in the Mission.  I made $30, which was awesome because as books they meant literally $0 to me.  And yet I still felt all weepy when I was standing at the counter sorting my cash and watching The Fountainhead become something I was definitely never going to read.  I said, “It’s so sad, selling books.” Like I was Zooey Deschanel or something, and the clerk looked at me like I was a dipshit and said, “Why?  There’s always more BOOKS.”

There’s always more books.

Read on to see what happens when she gets home.
