Many Machines saw this tagger slapping a sticker on a bus somewhere, took action, and then wrote an open letter to the kid explaining why:
It is very important that you understand that I didn’t do this because of some sort of anti-sticker philosophy. (My views on the matter are fairly fluid.)
I pulled your sticker down because it sucks. Really, it’s terrible.
Read on for the whole story and pics of the sucky sticker.
Yeah, I think Muni Diaries should probably Photoshop this into an epic new logo right about now.

P.S. Muni Diaries Live will back at the Make-Out Room later this month, with a special Halloween edition.
Janebook isn’t impressed:
it seems like every pretentious idiot i meet these days seems to refer to him or herself as a “foodie” in a manner not dissimilar to the way in which awkward mainstream bros start self-identifying as hipsters the minute they buy an animal collective album or the third american apparel flex fleece sweatshirt (i shouldn’t even have to say this but COME ON, so 2005) enters their wardrobe.
Sure, this line of criticism might be a little 2005 too, but do read on.

Yesterday at El Metate I got a fish quesadilla on a whim, sort of because it sounded silly. It was not silly — it was hell of good. Big, fishy, cheesy and hot.
It’s been a while since the Mission has seen any street art quite so thought-provoking as this. What gives? Can I get a SARAH SILVERMAN’S MUSTACHE up in here?
Alice Gregory, a San Franciscan living in New York (not pictured), recently had her Californianess tested:
I left my phone in a cab while running an errand for work last Wednesday. My native California “chillness” (which usually — thankfully! — does not exist) really came into effect. I remained calm. I did what I went to 9th Avenue and 38th to do then hailed another cab to take me to the office, where I planned to Google “lost property + nyc + cab.”
Read on for a poignant lesson in chill.

How come this isn’t the case at every intersection in America? Simple, easy, perfect. And it reminds me of that time God gave me the finger.
Could you possibly ask for a more perfect summation than this? What fun! Everyday Photos delivers again.
All I can add is that M.C. Hammer was weird, Patti Smith was tuff incarnate, Nick Lowe was charming as ever and Sharon Jones has tons of stamina.
Some Australian fashion blog called Wardrobe Wonderland today highlights a score from right here in the Mission. Says the wearer:
I recently got back from two months in the US, so my dress is from a vintage store called Thrift Town in the Mission District in San Francisco. It’s a peacock blue Thai silk vintage dress from Pauline’s in Bangkok. I love how vintage brands and labels are named after the maker.
Read on for more pics and analysis. “Vintage store”!!!
