Or perhaps she doesn’t realize that the public defender representing her totally hates her job and is only doing it to pay off the thousands of dollars of student loans she’s saddled with; and one day has aspirations to open up her own coffee shop somewhere along Valencia St.
I actually doubt that, the SF Public Defender is an extremely difficult and sought after job, and usually darn good at what they do. I do doubt that the defender is a ‘Yuppie’, insofar as ‘Yuppie’ implies wealth, and despite a better pay scale then most PD’s I wouldn’t call them wealthy…especially with the loans.
Now it sounds to me that Ms. Performance vandal is just being a typical criminal suspect and blaming her representation for the fact that she got caught doing something and is being prosecuted for it…
Anyone remember what the word “yuppie” stood for, originally? Back in the 80s? Anyone?… Anyone?… Bueller?
It stood for YOUNG URBAN PROFESSIONAL (with an “ie” that is supposed to remind people of “hippie” and “yippie”), you ignorant, know-nothing fucks!
The word “yuppie”, far from implying wealth, was intended to signify the striving hopefuls who aspired to (or pretended to be) the future upper middle class. And we all know how often that turned out wrong.
Excuse me, but I am sick to death of Mission hipster wannabe radicals misusing that word.
Yeah, nobody gets “saddled” with an SF Public Defender job. They get 100s of resumes every time there’s an opening. They’re also some of the best criminal defense attorneys in the city.
I only just discovered this whole publicity stunt, and had to read all the ones about how awesome it is to get banned from the Westfield and spend food stamps at Rainbow. My favorite was the “the north face produces its bubble jackets in Bangladesh. i am slashing these items on the racks”
It takes one to know one.
She could represent herself. But then her message would be: “My defense attorney is a clueless piece of shit”

I’m going to let that sit there for a second.

Man, Levi’s is crafty!
I’m sure once her public defender sees that tweet, he’ll be really motivated to do his best!!
