This is a neat series of wheat-pastes, but I’ve seen them around the mission EXCLUSIVELY covering up other people’s really neat art, often with plenty of wall space next to whatever its covering that could have easily been used. just sayin’
I’ve mostly seen these pastes over the already cluttered walls of advertisements. It’s a shame if someone is covering up other people’s work, but I definitely prefer these to whatever current string of deodorant, blockbuster, or pop album ads being shoved down our throats.
Im pretty sure this artist isn’t from here.. in which you wouldn’t have seen a lot of these… and I could guarantee that these aren’t exclusively covering other people’s art.
Thanks though, for the rumor and false intervention, Avi.
And, by the same token, ta for the “pretty sure” and the “wouldn’t” and “couldn’t” — nothing like a really indirect denial to inspire confidence in a rebuttal.
I didn’t know what “false intervention” meant, so I looked it up and found two definitions:
1. A false intervention occurs when news reports of intervention appear but the Federal Reserve does not intervene in that particular currency.
2. The false intervention is the etheric remains of humans that existed in many creations throughout time and space and form.
Pardon my ignorance, all clear now.

It isn’t clear if this is in response to “I’ve seen them around the mission,” I’ll assume this is a non sequitur since it in no way contradicts anything I wrote.
Lets assume the artist isn’t from here. How does it follow that I wouldn’t have seen a lot of these? Did I claim to see a lot of these? What is “a lot of these” anyway but a social construct?
“..and I could guarantee that these aren’t exclusively covering other people’s art.”
I set out to make a detailed map of the city to determine an exact ratio of which street-art in this series covered or didn’t cover other people’s work. I got lazy and only took the time to notice a handful along Valencia where I was already walking. If there’s a glut of them in The Sunset or North Beach that don’t cover other art, I have no clue, and don’t really care. There might even be some on Capp or Shotwell, or even Valencia, that I missed.
But seriously, It’s the nature of street-art to cover up what’s there before, I get that, I’m not vilifying this artist, just stating a casual observation. It’s right there on the street for anyone to see and verify or reject if they care, or casually observe, as Orki has done, or just as easily, casually ignore. Have at it.
Lots of flash-in-the-pan weak-pasters don’t know the code of the street and end up getting slapped out the game. Go finish your degree in e-marketing at CCAC, you’ve had your little ‘rebel-art’ fling.

Dear Walmart,
I should be working right now but fuck it –
