My vote goes to Mission Laundromat on 22nd right next door to the Latin American Club. You’ve got $2 basic machines, $4 and $6 heavy-duty units, and 7 minutes of drying per quarter. Ample seating has been introduced to augment the jury-rigged wire bench pictured at the front here, making for a nice lounge in which to catch up on that Milan Kundera novel you’ve been putting off (as long as you don’t mind the hospital-bright fluorescent lights, rhythmic drone of overloaded washers, and frequent visits and appeals from panhandlers). Best of all, your friends on their way to a quick drink next door will often spot you and invite you to come along!
Anyone else have any suggestions? Until I hear about a better one, I’m declaring this one the winner.

I don’t want to tell you where my favourite laundromat is, because then you’ll invade it and it will no longer be awesome.
technically, i did ask “what” instead of “where” so i guess this is fair.
still, i’m tired of my schemes always being dashed by you british.
i forgot the name, but right around the corner from Schmidts, on 20th, between Folsom and Shotwell, there is a laundromat with a Street Fighter II arcade machine.
The one where they do it for you, for $0.65 a pound. And I ain’t tellin…’ Do your own homework, fellow slacker people.
Oh, and fyi, for something more per pound, there’s a place that comes and PICKS IT UP, washes it, and BRINGS IT BACK TO YOU.
A taste of Imelda Marcos for the shoe-rich hipster.
A tattooed badass lesbian friend of mine who spent her youth doing her family’s laundry turned me on to that joint.
Duh. Starwash on 17th and Dolores.
All I know is that the brand new laundry around the corner from me at 24th and Guerrero is my new favorite. From what the signs say there is going to be a coffee shop in the mat also.
Why isn’t there a beer-bar laundromat in the Mission yet?
i do believe that the closest we’ll get to that is the one mentioned in the post — it’s next door to latin american, for beer’s sake!
Fiesta Wash – solar powered (unverified), constant shining/polishing by staff, clean bathrooms, tamale guy selling, cards instead of coins, random free washes (maybe every time a washer hits its hundredth cycle?), super hot dryers, off-peak hours offer lower rates, vending machines, across from Mr. Pickles, parking lot.
I think they also give you coffee in the late hours. Maybe super cheap.
Wash Club at 25th and Mission is pretty sweet. They have arcade games!
Mr. Burbujas at 24th and Florida if only for their mural. I walk by dozens of times a week but have never been inside.
Well, my basement gets the win for being nearby…
…sucks to be you.
super duper limpo wins for best name
FIESTA WASH

You cant front on that.
Buubles and Beans-24th/Guerrero. Brand new, clean, and very energy efficient machines. Can be in and out in less than 1 hour.
