Pizza Zone (‘N’ Grill!) on Duboce and Valencia.
Look, I’m not going to pretend I know anything about street art. The closest I got to “tagging” was repeatedly drawing the Stüssy S all over my binder in 7th grade.
But I think it’s really tacky when businesses paint their signs in graffiti text. It reminds me of those arcade machines in the 90′s that would show you a tag-font “Stay In School” splash screen when they started up. Even then I was cynical enough to see through their ridiculous attempt to appeal to my “urban” side.
Stussy S FTW.
There’s basically nothing about Pizza Zone “N” Grill that isn’t really tacky. Their pizza boxes put the “N” in quotes, for fuck’s sake (double quotes, that is, not single quotes)!
Still, I live two blocks away and sometimes I’m too lazy/hungry to walk somewhere better. That’s why their pizza box is sitting in my kitchen right now, waiting to be composted. How depressing.
When I went in yesterday, the grumpy old man (owner?) sitting three feet from the cash register just yelled at his employees in the back and told them to help me, never even looking me in the eye. What a place.
When your next door neighbor is a sketchy as fuck pot dispensary, who gives a shit about signage.
I wholeheartedly disagree. I think you’ve just run out of things to write about.
Really? You just noticed this?
their pizza is a lot better than their sign, but I guess that isn’t saying much
You’re right, you shouldn’t pretend you know anything about street art.
Why shouldn’t our local writers get some paid gigs?
Oh is that what they’re in it for? We should be glad we’re getting freebies all over town.
Yeah, you should be.
