Okay, what did I miss?
“16th street Bart station lock down. Trains not moving, police with rifles everywhere.” (link)
UPDATE: Eve over at the SF Appeal got the low-down. Apparently there was an attempted assault “in the immediate area” but the suspect fled before the police showed up.
I actually spotted a mobile police unit (the bread truck version, not the RV kind) and a patrol car there on my morning commute around 6am.
It was one of those rare and glorious mornings without having to weave through drug dealers and addicts, and no smell of urine!
Though this kind of activity is fairly common in the area, I am curious about those giant guns. I wonder if they were large rubber bullet rifles or something?
For a couple of weeks now the police have been setting up shop with several police cars and a tactical van near 16th Street bart. I’m not yet sure if it’s a deterrent or preparatory .
