Looks like there is a new edition to the Mission District Sugar Rails: Xanath Ice Cream just opened on Valencia at 21st. An iPhone picture of the menu indicates that everything they sell is organic, the prices are in-line with most other Mission Ice Creameries and their flavors are generally fruity (with the notable exception of Saffron). Of course, the name of the place (and logo) would indicate Vanilla is the flavor to try.
welcome to the hood Xanath.
good luck.
Oh man, try the vanilla bean shake w/ whipped cream. So good.
The vanilla bean was pretty good, but the saffron was the awesomest. Super soft, fragrant, and delicious. I highly recommend it!
Wait, does this place have anything to do with that strange business across the street from it that never seems to be open that only sells Vanilla Beans and Saffron?
@Kiya – I think it’s the same guy, but haven’t asked yet.
any sorbets? anything vegan??
Shut the F up Laura, its frickin ice cream you tool. If its vegan, it ain’t ice cream.
cripes.
da-hang. i just asked if there were any SORBETS or vegan flavors, not uncommon in SF. again, DANG.
I think you’re on the wrong site. Hostility + inanity are the signature of an SF Gate commenter, guy.

According to someone on Yelp, there are sorbets. http://www.yelp.com/biz/xanath-ice-cream-san-francisco#hrid:8JiKoNcCyx8YzoMI_pb4Ew
I will investigate.
It is my understanding that it is the self-same vanilla importer who is responsible for Xanath.
Yep same guy as the vanilla and saffron importer across the street — Senor San Mames.
they need to warm the place up in terms of decor, and really…lose the uniforms. i walked in, was visually shocked, and turned off to the point of wanting to leave. i wish them the best. i’m sure they’ll work it out.
