Here is one he wrote for me at the Temescal Farmer’s Market (oaklanddd) Feb 1, 2009. The way I typed it below is the way it was written.
the wind is the victim here
our lips of the tongue were
once we admitted it the same
distance from each other no
matter what we were saying
of facts and asking that
the perfect circles get
cured ordered around
and normally i tend
to denounce most
medicine but to
chapped lips
i cede the
conceit
of needing
a lip balm
cure all to
count on the
winter
to ever end
in its warm
middle of
what we
were saying
doesnt hurt
its worth
waiting
for
(I had asked him to wrote me a poem about chapped lips…)
He poeted one for me outside Berkeley Bowl a couple years ago. The topic was bananas, and I liked it. Unfortunately, I lost the little scrap it was typed on.
Yooo, his name is Zach Houston. He lives in Downtown Oakland and has had pieces displayed at all the galleries around 24th and Telegraph. REALITYYYYY: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO4l_diAJkY

Anyone remember the street poet in the Haight? My girl used to pay him a dollar NOT to recite a poem.
